Since I'm new to 15mm Sci-fi, figured I check what rules set everyone is playing and intends to use these new figs for.

Hi!

Im currently using a combination of the old Rogue Trader rules combined with bits from We Can Be Heroes 2. It seems to work quite well for skirmish gaming but I would like a more comprehensive rule set (Ive heard that the Infinity wargame rules are brilliant for sci-fi gaming and are a bit more up to date than the creaky old GW offering!)

Id quite like to see a decent rule set that plays well but incorporates decent sci-fi elements without being bogged down with excessive rules!

I am using a modified version of "Force on Force" by Ambush Alley Games for my 15mm Sci-fi, that is until they release a set of Sci-fi rules themselves.

I play Infinity using the Covis Belli Infinity figs, the rule set is plays very quickly and keeps both players involved, but its not for more then around 10 figs to a side. Due to the way it plays it would bog down trying to play bigger battles. I looking to find something squad based for company and platoon size battles. I've heard good things about 5150 and Force on Force, but haven't picked either up yet.

I'm going to use the Light Recon Troops initially with Future War Commander and Alien Squad Leader.

I am play testing Tomorrows War, the Force on force future warfare/sci fi rules and will buy additional figures later for this.

Cheers
Mark

Is Tomorrows War going to be stand alone or is it going to be an addon to the core FoF book

I am waiting Sci-fi version of Force on Force. I am also writing a ruleset to play with Laserburn models (Imperial Commander and Beamstrike are cool but... )

I like also Attrition ou Galactic Grenadier/Final Frontier. I have hoped that a new version of Stargrunt will be released one day with more easy rule for damage for exemple...but it seems that it's not schedule by Jon.

I really like Ganesha Games' "Mutants & Death Ray Guns"; its post apocalyptic stuff but its a no brainer to convert it to SF. They are talking of a sci fi version next year. its skirmish level - say 10 per side max but fun. 5150 is good too but does have a lot of reaction charts and may bog down
Green, Gold, Gunmetal. No other colours required.

How about Alien Squad Leader. .Alien Squad Leader Rules Link

There is a really good yahoo group that has lots of info on the game. The game seems rather simple at first, but so does chess. Get my drift
