Critical Mass Tourney Sat 24th November

Critical Mass Games is pleased to annouce our first UK tournament using the Critical Mass rules.

The tournament will be run on Saturday 24th November 2012 and be held at the Wigan Wargames Club located in the 27th Wigan Scouts hall.

The address is;

St.Aidans Scout Hall, next to St. Aidans Social Club, Highfield Grange Ave, Winstanley, Wigan, WN3 6TB.

I know some of you are a good drive away so we will be starting at 10:30 a.m. That will give us half an hour to brief out the days events then get to the games.

10:30-11:00 Days Brief, Brews and snacks
11:00-13:00 1st 2000pts game
13:00-14:00 Lunch
14:00-16:00 2nd 2000pts game
16:00-16:30 Break
16:30-18:30 Final 2000pts game
18:30-19:00 Winners & Prizes
19:00 onwards The Venue will be open for general gaming and we will order in Pizzas for around 8-9pm (depending on when the delivery guy arrives). If you want more Critical Mass then feel free, Dale and I will also be bringing down some boardgames from our collections for lighter gaming.
19:30 onwards the hall will be open to regular Wigan Wargames club members for open gaming, the chance to meet some of the people who helped play test Critical Mass and enjoy some different gaming with a fun and friendly bunch of people.

We will use a Swiss system on the day, 3pts for a win, 1pt each for a draw/time out, 0pts for a loss. Basically the players with the highest tally play players with the highest tally.

All armies must be exactly or under 2000pts and selected from the ARC Fleet, Protolene Khanates, Kaamados Dominion, or Praesentia Lists found in the rulebook.

Armies must be assembled (painting optional), though we will be offering a prize for the best painted army (and no Dale’s army will not count if he plays!)

Scenarios will be generated from our new mission generator (which will be emiled out to entrants), these will be described on the day and anything extra you need such as objectives provided (you will even get to keep them!).

Entrance to the tournament will be £5 though places are limited to 16. You will be able to book your place through the pre-order page of the website in the next couple of days. (update to come) Any items ordered as a pre-order for the tournament will qualify for a 15% discount rather than the normal 10% we offer for shows.

All entrants to the tournament will receive a Critical Mass T-Shirt plus we will have give aways throughout the day.

Prizes for the tournament are;

1st Place overall winner : 1 x 1000pts Battle Force (choice of 4) + 1 Building Sets of your choice (choice of 6)

Best Painted Army : Set of 3 Windsor & Newton Series 7 Miniatures Paint Brushes

2nd place overall winner : 1 x 1000pts Battle Force (choice of 4)

3rd place overall winner : Infantry or Vehicle Platoon of your choice

Both Dale and I see this first Critical Mass tournament as a great opportunity for those of you who have supported us over our first years as a company to have a fantastic fun day with us and a chance to win some great prizes, and maybe even a few sneak peeks of our upcoming miniatures.
